I think… I mean I KNOW that today, most blogs are asking you for your 2017 New Year resolutions, so I wanted to change this up. Instead of asking you guys what your resolutions are, here is how you can achieve your goals.
First off, you need to MAKE your goals. There are many different type of goals, for example, compare these two: ‘Appreciate every little thing you might have not noticed’ (my goal), and/or ‘Read 35 minutes every day’ (also my goal). Now you can tell how goals come differently. If your goal is similar to the second one than this will probably help you attain that goal.
Take one of your goals (I am using ‘Read 35 minutes every day’) and ask yourself or write down WHY you want to reach this goal. This will just get you thinking and motivated to reach the goal. Next, ask yourself or write down HOW you are going to reach your goal. This, to me, is the most important step because it will lead you in the right direction. When you’re composing your plan to get to your goal, think about what type of learner you are; Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic. If your plan is to remember to do something, try following this based on your learning style:
If you are a visual learner, then have some image that will remind you to do what you want to do.
If you are an auditory learner, have someone remind you to do what you want to remember.
For kinesthetic learners, I recommend you leave an object that reminds you of what you have to do somewhere.
Obviously, there are infinite ways to remember things, and the way I think works best is keeping a planner and writing every single thing down. Scientists have proven that when you write something down, it is remembered better, so if you don’t find any of the ways above helpful, than just write it down. I wish everybody a great New Year’s Eve and good luck with the resolutions! xxx
